Celebrate St. Louis Summer Concerts takes place July 12, 13 & 19, 20. Gates will open at 6 p.m. each evening and will feature two local bands prior to our national headliner.
Friday, July 12
Country crooner Josh Turner is the accomplished singer behind top-selling hits such as “Would You Go With Me” “Firecracker” and “Why Don’t We Just Dance”.
He was inducted into the Grand OleOpry in 2007 and is currently one of the youngest members. He also appeared as George Beverly Shea in Billy: The Early Years a biopic about evangelist Billy Graham.
Josh’s latest album Punching Bag was released on June 12, 2012. “Time is Love”, his first single from the album, was named by Billboard Year-End as the biggest hit of 2012.

The alternative rock band hailing from Saint Louis is known for their high-energy performances on stage. The Urge has toured with 311, Incubus, and KoЯn and mixes multiple genres such as hardcore rock, heavy metal, reggae, funk, and rhythm and blues.
They were formed in 1987 and released their first album in 1989. Their hit single “Jump Right In” was featured on MTV’s Daria as well as The Real World. In 2011, they announced they would be releasing new music for the first time in 10 years.
The band has recorded a live CD All the Way Live and a DVD Live and Direct that showcase their performances at the Pageant in November 2011. Since releasing their single “Say Yeah”, The Urge has performed at Knotfest as well as on the Norwegian Pearl Cruise Ship for the 2013 311 Cruise.

K’NAAN (artist canceled due a personal family matter)

Somali rapper, singer, and songwriter K’NAAN broke into stardom with his single “Wavin’ Flag” which was used by Coca-Cola during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. He has worked with performers such as Nelly Furtado, Mos Def, Adam Levine, will.i.am and Damian Marley.
K’NAAN is often compared to Eminem, although the message of his music is much different. He often references Somalia and calls for an end to violence while also avoiding rap clichés.
K’NAAN is also the author of the children’s book, When I Get Older: The Story Behind Wavin’ Flag. In 2012 he released his latest album, Country, God or the Girl.
Saturday, July 20
Alternative rock and Christian rock band NEEDTOBREATHE jumped into the scene in 2006 with the release of their first album Daylight. The band is comprised of brothers Bo and Bear Rinehart as well as bass player Seth Bolt.
The band opened for Taylor Swift’s Speak Now Tour which kicked off in May of 2011. They have also toured with Train, Collective Soul, and Will Hoge. NEEDTOBREATHE has been nominated for numerous GMA Dove Awards as well as winning the category of “Rock/Contemporary Song of the Year” in 2009 for “Washed by the Water”.
Their latest album The Reckoning was No. 6 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The band’s first single from the album titled “Slumber” reached No. 26 on the Christian rock charts. Their newest EP “Cercas Blancas” is now available and their new album is set to release in the fall of 2013.
